Solutions which also have substance the day after tomorrow

With the "Efficiency plus" project, Viessmann has proved that the Federal German Government's climate policy goals for 2050 can already be reached today using technology available on the market in an economically meaningful sense. Arising from this project, Etanomics Service GmbH provides energy concepts which meet the current framework conditions and can be adapted to tomorrow's.

Through increasing energy efficiency by 22% as well as substituting fossil energy with renewable energy, the consumption of oil and gas has been reduced by 60%; CO2 emissions are reduced by 80%.

On the consumer side, energy-optimised production systems and processes, rigorous heat recovery and improved thermal insulation of buildings ensure this.

All future-orientated technology is used at the Energy Centre, for example highly efficient condensing boiler technology and combined heat and power systems. Moreover, fossil fuels are increasingly being replaced with renewable energy. Here, the use of solid biomass and biogas are in the foreground as well as the use of solar energy from thermal solar or photovoltaic systems and air and geothermal heat via heat pump technology.

The core thought behind the Efficiency Plus Project is always the consistent networking of the individual system components. Wide-ranging energy efficiency is not only relevant for building control systems across the works, also the data from the individual production processes is important as input variables.

The building and system data can be directly compared to the current production status with an energy cockpit. Efficiency results from this logic.

  • Reduction of emissions by 80% (31,000 t/a)
  • Reduction of fossil end energy by 60% (> 60 GWh)
  • Heat generation for the entire location of which more than 80% is with renewable energy
  • Full transparency for the energy costs at all value-added levels
  • In excess of 1 MW electrical generation capacity at the location
  • Halving the thermal generation capacity at the location with identical supply guarantee
